Regroup Team! Posted by Drumstix42
Time for some updates!

On the gaming horizon is the newly released Far Cry 2, which a lot of us have been eye balling since Crysis. Coming soon to PC/Xbox360 is Call of Duty: World at War which is all about the marines in the south pacific in WWII.
Register at callofduty.com and see this topic for PC beta info: here

Other up-coming titles: Crysis: Warhead for PC and I believe Gears of War 2 for Xbox360.
This fall should prove to be some good gaming, and hopefully we'll all be gaming together soon.

In other news, TeamRecon.net is currently going through some structural coding changes, developed by yours truly. Nothing is set in stone for what will happen quite yet, but currently there is a test forum setup with the rest of the site coming soon. You can check out the progress and features of our ported boards at:

See you on the battlefield...

Firefox 3 "Download Day" Posted by Drumstix42
Mozilla has officially released their public version of Firefox 3 today. They had planned today as their official "Download Day" in an attempt to set a Guinness World Record; for most software downloads in a 24-hour period. I've already downloaded and installed my copy. In fact, I'm posting with it now.

Firefox 3 comes packed with a bunch of new and old, updated features, security measures, and customization.
Head over to SpeadFirefox to check out what Firefox 3 is all about. The download counter is currently nearing 600,000 downloads. It's quite impressive.

A Rise to Duty Posted by Jesse
Not much is new in the realm of Team Recon. A new TeamSpeak IP (I believe we hit nearly 300 days without ever needing to reboot the server) and some old faces have popped up, but nothing truly new.

We're all eagerly looking forward to the Project Rise Mod for Crysis. Project Rise is a Tribes influenced mod that is in the alpha stages of development. They are currently looking for a texture-artist and coder. Spread the word and give them some support.

Catch Igo, Captain Cracker, Njal Storm, Wolfpaws, Arch Angel, and myself (Jesse/Ctathos) playing Call of Duty 4 at least two nights a week, normally very late eastern on Friday and Saturday night. All are welcome, hop on teamspeak and drop us a hello.

Remember, if you're looking for Team Recon on Xfire, Team Recon XFire Clan.

Standstill Posted by Jesse
With dead week almost over and finals week coming up, I can honestly say that games are low on the priority list. I find myself once again in need of a break from video games... yet at the same time the CAL ET:QW Season 2 is starting up and I have to manage a team. Fire alarms being pulled at 3AM every day, wars between the dorms, yes, the last weeks of school are definitely hectic. I couldn't tell you what the boys have been up to, Battlefield, Call of Duty, who knows?

As I sit here in my 7:50 Management Class, I have to decide: pay attention, or let it slide? *Yawn* I guess I should take some notes seeing as we're reviewing for the final exam.

In other news, I hear a new build of Legions is out, and that it is absolutely dang awesome. If you happen to find someone in the Beta, I hear they each received two invites.

So for the last week and in the next week, life as a gamer is at a standstill.
