AMD. Price effective and performance is very similar, often better.
Plus, you if you got ATI, you then have a company that makes drivers for two main parts of your PC and they work well together. This is merely speculation and personal opinion. But the driver and hardware working well together is also true. _________________ "Always code as if the person who ends up maintaining your code will be a violent psychopath who knows where you live." |

I was always AMD. However my current rig has intel. The benefits for using intell
- the higher performing ram is usually designed for intel first. I bought ddr2, when amd was capped at DDR (or maybe it was 2 & 3)
- the CPU is usually beefier: I got intel 4xcore when AMD was capped at only one 2xcore chip. I had dozens of Itel chips to select from
- cooler: probably 15 to 20 degrees cooler
the next time I purchase I'm really gonna research, but if intel has the lead on ram and CPU then it will be intell again _________________ Team Captain: Recon |

My main focus is price effective, best bang without busting the buck $$$, and what runs cool. _________________

From what I've seen the latest AMD AM3 chips are all fairly cool.
I know my runs under 40C most of the time
I'd agree AMD is most cost effective. _________________ "Always code as if the person who ends up maintaining your code will be a violent psychopath who knows where you live." |
